Community Development Watch Tanzania

CODEWA is a Tanzanian non-governmental organisation working alongside vulnerable children, young people and their communities. We combine education, health, livelihoods and climate action so that every young person has a fair chance to thrive.

What we work on

Education

Keeping children in school and opening digital pathways for youth.

Health & wellbeing

Sexual and reproductive health, nutrition and psychosocial support.

Climate action

Community-led environmental care and climate-smart livelihoods.

Youth voice

Mentorship, leadership and safe spaces for young people to be heard.

Our IT lab and self-learning campus

At the heart of the programme is our IT lab in Tabora: rows of laptops, reliable power and a facilitator on hand. Young adults come in and learn at their own pace through this platform — hard skills such as computer literacy, office software, digital marketing and online work, alongside the soft skills that decide interviews: communication, teamwork, time-keeping, problem solving and self-confidence. The goal is simple employability. Because every minute watched and every score is recorded, our team can see who is thriving and who needs support, and report honestly to our partners.
